Georgia Power lake information
We call it Jackson Lake, not Lake Jackson*

•Jackson Lake was formed by building the Lloyd Shoals Dam in 1910 - 1911. Jackson Lake is a man made reservoir covering about 4,750 acres, and it has roughly 135 miles of shoreline. It’s one of Georgia’s oldest reservoirs, and it is over 100 years old.

•The tri-county lake (Butts, Jasper, and Newton) has about 2,100 homes on it.

•The lake’s inflows include the Yellow, Alcovy, and South Rivers, plus Tussahaw Creek. Its outflow is the Ocmulgee River, below the dam.

•There are lots of coves with picturesque views and sights, which are great for nature lovers and photographers.

•Jackson Lake has something for everyone!

*Boats with marine toilets, galleys, and/or sleeping quarters are not permitted on Jackson Lake
